We took a last look at buffers and titrations curves. Quick quiz tomorrow and a test on Friday.
Practice for tonight:
- 100 mL of 1.00 M HCN is mixed with 1.00 M NaOH. The Ka of HCN is 5.8 x 10-10.
- How many mL of NaOH need to be added to reach the equivalence point?
- How many mL of NaOH need to be added to reach the half-way point?
- What is the pH at the equivalence point?
- Sketch a graph of the pH vs the amount of NaOH added. Include values on x and y axes.
Chemistry 102
We attempted to finish our lab today. We will finish tomorrow.
